De Cope

The façade came from a desire to create a building that would not have the standard parking garage with its typical composition of beams, balustrades and columns. Working from the urban design concept, the intention was to design a volume with a high level of abstraction. By continuing the façade in front of the parking garage and the office levels, the functional division can no longer be seen. This façade consists of arched (hollow), composite panels with anodizing that gives the aluminium top layer its gold look. By introducing gradual changes in the perforation and by staggering the panels, the appearance of a woven structure is created. The perforation guarantees natural ventilation in the multi-storey parking garage. The arching of the panels allows them to be evenly distributed along the façade, including at the curved ends.
